Basic Manually-Operated Rifle (119651)

Description

PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD

This unit standard is for anyone who privately uses a manually operated rifle or carbine and or who requires a Competency Certificate in terms of relevant legislation. People credited with this unit standard are capable of:

• Handling a manually operated rifle or carbine;
• Using a manually operated rifle or carbine; and
• Carrying out basic inspection and maintenance of a manually operated rifle or carbine for safe use.

LEARNING ASSUMED TO BE IN PLACE AND RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING

It is assumed that learners are already competent in terms of the following unit standards:

• 117705: Demonstrate knowledge of the Firearms Control Act (Act No. 60 of 2000)
• Communication NQF Level 2.
